PORT ELIZABETH PSYCHOLOGIST
GROUPS & PSYCHOEDUCATION
Structured, practical support — without emotional pressure
Alongside individual therapy, I offer small, structured psychoeducational groups focused on understanding neurodivergent nervous systems and supporting regulation in everyday life.
This work sits between therapy and self-help.
It is designed to provide clarity, reassurance, and practical ideas — without requiring emotional disclosure or personal sharing.
What to expect?
Groups are:
-
Psychoeducational (not therapy)
-
Structured and predictable
-
Grounded in neurodivergent-affirming practice
-
Practical rather than problem-focused
-
Emotionally safe and contained
Participants are welcome to listen quietly and take what feels useful.
There is no expectation to share personal experiences.
Current Group Offerings (2026)
April 2026 – Supporting Regulation in Autistic Children
These small, online groups are designed for parents of children with autism who want to better understand regulation and learn practical ways to support their child’s nervous system.
Rather than focusing on behaviour management or “fixing” difficulties, the group explores how regulation works, why overload happens, and what kinds of support are most helpful for autistic nervous systems.
Key themes include:
- How autistic nervous systems process stress and sensory input
- Why common regulation strategies often fail — and what helps instead
- Sensory, environmental, and external regulation supports
- Recognising early signs of overload
- Supporting regulation without increasing exhaustion (for child and parent)
