It’s important to find/make some structure to your day during the lockdown. While I talk more about this in another post, I wanted to share with you my form of art therapy. Art therapy is a great way to quieten the mind and spend your time in a meditative practice. The art if do you can do irrespective of whether you are an artist, a doodler or under 10. It’s called surface patterns and you see them every day – designs on everything from t-shirts to material to bedding. You can create anything in any style. I use a tablet with an s-pen but you don’t need digital means to get creating. A pencil and piece of paper, and if you want to, crayons, pastels, paints or any related media. Your drawings can be stylised or actual impressions and can have colours that don’t even make sense. To give you an example, I’ve put in a link to one of my drawings (I’m no artist but this I find fun) on Pinterest. You will find ample other examples and look for classes on YouTube. The link is http://pin.it//2nWTJdF. I’ve shared another one here.

If you get pattern making, please share. Do you find it therapeutic?
